Not a shocker at all. I didn't see him fight, but I know that many, many people felt that, pound for pound, he was the best ever.Originally Posted by Clutch0364

To answer your question Z, no it was not Rocky Marciano. Rocky Marciano wasn't even in the top 10

Everytime we bring up boxing a white man gotta mention Rocky Marciano. What Rocky Marciano ever do? The old white man goes he beat Joe Louis ass!
Sorry if I am the only one who find that funny but I laugh every time I see it
You boys are something else! Not a fight fan, just remember my pop mentiong Marciano....

Got to be Ali. Don't get me wrong, Robinson was great and is deserving of the #1 spot, but I think Ali's skill and athleticism in the ring as well as what he meant to the world outside it should put him at #1. Not to mention he lost a few years of what would have been the prime of his career to jail over the Draft issue.
Oh yeah..."Joe Lewis always lied about his age. One time, Frank Sinatra came in here and sat down on this chair. I said, 'Frank, you always hanging out with Joe Lewis. Just between me and you, how old is he?' You know what Frank said? 'Joe Lewis is 137 yeas old.' 137 years old!"
