This statement could not be more true! Fezzo's has great food and provides a tremendous amount of support to the Cajuns both from a business standpoint and on a personal note every year in multiple sports. Every Cajun fan should patronize both locations. Thank you for your support!

Everybody talks about Dwight's boiled crawfish (which are indeed delicious). But if you haven't had the Dwight's Special, you are missing out! Fried crawfish tails, topped with crawfish étouffée, all on French bread. If I still lived in Lafayette, I would have cholesterol through the roof because of that thing!

Don's seafood hut/downtown used to be pretty good... haven't been there in a while... Never went back to lagneaux's since they got shut down twice (that I know of) by the health dpt. That was years ago.. maybe they cleaned up their act

There may have been a lull when management went from founder to 2nd and 3rd generation management, but they have settled into their roles nicely, and it shows.

I have eaten at Lagneaux's a few times in the last 2 years and it was great.

I even had the opportunity to photograph the place as they were preparing for their evening buffet and was impressed with how smooth the operation was. Everything was super fresh.

two separate entities, and eateries. both based in the landry family which founded the downtown location. the hut is still my favorite. most consistent. a bit pricey, and the portions seem to be shrinking, but worth it. poor boy's still has the best stuffed potato in town, along with great, classic seafood dishes. by the way, the rib eye and fried chicken dinner at the hut are recommended.

But when you go to the Hut you are greeted by the ambiance of...the Sherwin Williams? Don's Seafood and Steakhouse is smack dab in the middle of downtown. If we are just comparing atmosphere's the Hut's coulee access would throw it into a tailspin in a heartbeat. I will say that the Downtown location has suffered a bit, due to changes in management, but like I said the right kind of people are back running things now, so stop in if you get a chance. This message was paid for by Citizens against the Hut.

I went to Don's downtown Wednesday night an except for the construction in the bar area it was very good. Some of the largest oysters I have seen in a restaurant in years. They are redoing the bar and it looks like it is going to be very nice. The young lady behind the bar assured me they are upgrading their bourbon selection.
