In my opinion, the passing game had signs of being very good but they need improvement. I understand that they are learning a new system and are trying to get on the same page so I am not worried. There is no doubt that our skill positions are as athletic and have the speed to compete with any team in the conference. Put the ball in there hands, and good things will happen.

Thought Richey Falgout looked really good, among others.

I agree...I think Richey will be a great hands guy for us. I don't think he will be a guy that will make the 80 yard TD run but I think he is the perfect guy to get the ball to when it is 3rd and 8 and you have to get to that line.

Speaking of recievers, someone said that they think Lance Kelly will return kicks. Is this just someone's opinion, or is this legit. Is he that fast?

Richey Falgout was impressive on Saturday. He has very good hands and he is not afraid of a little contact. In some cases he was initiating the contact.

From what I hear, Lance Kelly is the real deal. I do not know how fast he is but I know he is impressing many people.

Is there any chance that Greg Hathorn plays this year. I think he is a very good player and after Hardeway we are young. _
Benoit did not complete his credits in JC, until summer. This is why Baylor pulled his scholarship offer at that time. They were looking for JC help in the line to work during spring. He came in during spring and coach told him at the time we had no scholarships available, but something could open up if we lose someone. Well Odoms hasn't been cleared yet and Cook did get clearence, so it's a wash. Benoit didn't want to wait until next spring to sign, he wanted to play this year.

Hathorn told me yesterday that he has another doctors visit this week, so the final decision to hold him out has not been made.

    1. Put this thing in the Indoor Practice Facility
    2. The Band outside the stadium was a total waste. They should set up where people can listen, everyone was inside the stadium.

It was way too crowded to fit everyone in the walk-way. It made it difficult to get around and get concessions. If this was in the IPF the music could be heard, the cheerleaders could be heard, and everyone could have room to move around. It would also be much cooler and in bad weather you are covered.

I must say I had a great time and I thank everyone who helped. _

I agree but then we couldn't have sky divers. I thought that was really cool. But you are right. The way they closed off most of the walk-way made it nearly impossible to move around.

In high school he was almost always the best athlete on the field...he is legit. Saturday he didn't make any explosive plays but I would say that it is probably a real possibility.

  9. UL Football South Carolina Game

Does anyone know if there is going to be a bus ride or something to that effect for the game in South Carolina?

I agree, but the IPF just wasn't ready for public traffic this year. I walked inside and boy was it impressive, and suffocatingly hot. I would say at least two separate concessions stands, it took half an hour to get a burger. Best fan day yet, tho, and those skydivers were awesome! The fan/athlete interaction was great, and to see all those kids running around for autographs was pretty cool.

  12. UL Football Fan Day over UL back to the Grid

UL's football team returned to the practice field Monday following the first "off" day of fall camp, but the memories of Saturday's full-scale scrimmage were still fresh in everyone's minds.

Mostly, it was the memories of the mistakes the Ragin' Cajuns made on Saturday, after the coaches broke down the scrimmage video on Sunday and the players got to see it in Monday position meetings.

"It was pretty much what we thought originally," Cajun coach Rickey Bustle said of his review of scrimmage video. "For a first scrimmage it was OK. We missed too many tackles and we didn't have the passion a defense needs.

"On offense we got tired and sloppy. To wear a defense down you've got to be in better shape yourself."
