I'm sure KLAF will pick up the McNeese game.
UL football coach Rickey Bustle has always been a disciple of strong special teams play, and he says that's going to become even more important in 2007.
Rules changes in place for NCAA football this fall will put a priority on kickoff returns, and several coaches at both the Sun Belt and SEC media days predicted more scoring this year because teams will start many possessions from better field position.
Kickoffs this year will come from the 30-yard line as in the NFL, replacing the 35 which has been used for almost two decades. NCAA research figures the average kickoff will now be received at almost the 10-yard line.
Bustle's squad hasn't been blessed with a strong-legged kicker, one that consistently forced touchbacks, in most of his UL seasons. Moving kickoffs back five yards only adds more pressure on his cover team.

PS That's a joke, Doc, please don't have a reactor meltdown.
For what its worth, we are hosting the Lake Charles LL girls softball team here in San Antonio this week for their Southwestern Regional Tournament. Several of their folks are big McNeese supporters; so we've had some good natured fun all week. One of their dad's is a HUGE McNeese fan. They were saying that to their knowledge the original 5000 allotment has yet to be purchased. He thinks its just standard "wait to the last minute" stuff; but does expect a good following. We talked about tailgating and potential best places for them. Obviously the newly designated area for visitors to tailgate was not made with a "McNeese type crowd" in mind. As I said earlier, the spots just outside the stadium on the NE side (Cajundome side) would seem to be a perfect place for them especially if that is the entrance they need for visitor seating.Originally Posted by rhineaux
Why doesn't the NCAA just leave well enough alone?

You think there is too much scoring in college football? I am good either way.Originally Posted by CajunKahouna
