I'd say all the better to kick the ball out of bounds.Originally Posted by NewsCopy

I agree, this isn't that big of a deal. If we can't cover kicks, then that's our problem and something that we'll ahve to get better at.Originally Posted by ULforlife
At least the new rule isn't "hinky" like that thing they did with the time clock last year.
CSS is not available through Directv, i dont know why but other comcast sports networks are. Only 3 towns in Louisiana have the channel, Shreveport, Monroe, and Picayune. This will anger me greatly if I cant watch this game. I will send an email to directv and see if they will be showing it through regional coverage or something else like it.
Please post your response from Directv, as I just switched from regular Comcast cable to Directv as well. But I might be in Lafayette on 9/1.Originally Posted by cajunhawk
Does anyone know if Cox will pick it up in Lafayette?
They do carry three Comcast Network channels. Perhaps at least one will be picking up the game? BTW which game are we talking about here? Also isn't ragincajun.com doing some VOD games? Maybe it will be on there.Originally Posted by cajunhawk

Is there a game you’re dying to watch tonight? Can’t find us in your local cable lineup? To see if CSS is available in your area, visit our Channel Finder. We’ll tell you who carries CSS in your area and on which channel.
How can I get CSS?
CSS is available through Comcast, Charter and other cable providers. We are not currently available through Dish Network or DirecTV. If your local cable provider doesn’t offer CSS, click here to let us know. We’ll work on expanding our coverage area to bring CSS to you.
Bottom Line -
CSS is not offered through Dish Network or Direct TV
CSS is not offered in Texas
CSS is only offered in three cable markets in Louisiana
So we need one of these things to happen -
We need for a local channel in Lafayette to purchase the broadcast and carry it on local TV in the Lafayette market through pay per view or free cable.
We need Direct TV to pick it up and offer it as a ESPN Game Day purchase (They probably will offer this because it's early in the season UL vs SEC). If so, one can purchase the ESPN Gameplan for a day only, and you will get all of the games that Saturday......so keep and eye out as we get closer for the Gameplan Schedule.....it should come out in 2 to 3 weeks.
Or - one can call CSS and ask for the uplink satellite information for the game UL / USC and go to a sports bar (only the ones with the C Scan technology.... these are the large satellite dish....not the mini ones) and give them the satellite data, they can get the game. Two places in Houston that have this are the SRO sports bars in Houston, and Champions North Houston area. You will have to request a satellite with the electronic guy there at the bar....and on Saturdays, you might have some competition with other schools / fans games. The SRO has 7 satellite systems.
Or - you can use the internet feed on the Sunbelt site
Other than that - we are out of luck.
I also looked it up on my set last night. The sports package shows CS-NE, CS-NW, and CS-W or something like that.Originally Posted by cajunhawk

Josh Pinnick is becoming very popular.
After earning first-team All-Sun Belt honors last season, the senior defensive lineman was one of 43 players named to the Lombardi Watch List heading into this year. He is also a preseason All-Conference selection, CBS SportsLine.com's Sun Belt preseason defensive player of the year and is gaining attention from NFL Draft services.
"They are nice and it's nice to be recognized for what you do, but you are only as good as your next game," Pinnick said. "I try not to get caught up in the hype and conference honors. It's more for my mom. She loves that kind of stuff. Everybody likes to be honored for what they do, but the only thing that really would make me happy is the Sun Belt Conference championship. Anything less and I'm going to feel incomplete."
