Yea, Traffica had an unfortunate start and Robe pulled him in favor of Kody Smith in the 2nd.

I think not having Strentz is hurting this team in more ways than one. In the first inning alone there was a passed ball that advanced a runner, a wild pitch that scored a run, and a BUNT SINGLE to the PITCHER. They scored 2 in the 1st.

Strentz is the captain of this team and it seems that its showing we are weak without him. I may be jumping the gun, but that's just my gut instinct when I look at how that first inning played out.

I've seen Mike fail to block several pitches at the Tigue so far this year, so I wouldn't automatically assume that he would have stopped those wild pitches that Thurmon did not. I do think we will miss his bat.

I think this is the result of a bad combination of losing Strentz to injury + first road game of season + rowdy big crowd at USM = nerves and playing scared.

Let's hope they get their whits about them soon and start settling down and just playing ball.

Fair enough. But I've seen Thurman do worse things behind the plate on that Sunday he started against CMU. Lol.
