Thread: Clemens sells out

    UL Baseball Clemens sells out

I'm not sure how everyone feels about it, but I have lost a lot of respect for Roger Clemens over that last few years. Don't get me wrong, just like Barry Bonds, I will admit that Roger is up there with the best players of all time, but enough is enough. If you can't handle playing an entire season and traveling with you team, hang em up. Any thoughts?

If somebody's willing to pay him what he wants to pitch how he wants to pitch, more power to him. It's not like he'll only half to pitch the first half of every inning. For half a season at a time, he's still one of the best.

Was there any doubt that he would be in NY after Andy Pettite signed? I can't blame after watching possibly the worst Astro team in five or six years.

I am kinda ____ed he's not with teh Astro's this season, but the Yankees are giving him a (pro-rated) $28 million salary. He's now the highest paid player in the Majors. How does he pass that up. I am not sure if the Astro's made him an official offer, i don't think that they did, but Boston's first offer was $18 mill. The Yankees are out of their mind.

Good thing for astro's fans is that he'll be with the team soon enough after he retires, as some sort of consultant/coach.

He was a distraction for two years now. Let the Bronx have him.

He won't fare so well against AL batting.

Like the saying goes, he's an A-hole, but he's our A-hole. Well, not any more. He's just an A-hole.

In several years in the golf business I dealt with literally dozens of extremely successful professional athletes, actors and other big wheels; from Bob Hope to Truck Robinson to Prince Ranier. Based on personal experience, he has an uncommon sense of entitlement that completely excludes common courtesy. He is just a jerk. Big league you in a heart beat.
