Hopefully they keep the clock and teach it when daylight savings time is.
Quit complaining, you big complainer. Bring your own watch, it's not Tigue Moore Field's obligation to give you the correct time.

The existing scoreboard was so old you couldn't get bulbs any longer and any programming done was only one company I think in eastern Europe, so the cost factor made no sense to get anything done to it.

I'm sure it's in the soon to be released Master Plan. :-)

I wonder if that's why the new board at Tigue is so inexpensive appearing.........discount because we'll be buying a much more expensive one soon?

A full size LED billboard (11' x 36') costs around $100,000, capable of good quality video, etc. Not exactly a scoreboard, but a first cousin, maybe. I would think $375,000 buys a very nice scoreboard with a decent video screen, installed.

LED billboards are going down in price, just like TV's.

When they build the new grandstand.

That's my understanding. They just put about $90K into the locker rooms (got a great discount from KK) and I think they did a little work in Tony's office, but unfortunately Tony's office and the current bathrooms will remain as is until the new grandstand is completed.

BTW, there was a group in the initial phase of looking to raise money for the scoreboard as it wasn't going to be part of the master plan, but with the donation(s) it was fast-tracked. Installation is due to start after the SoAL series.

Does anyone know if we will use Daktronics again? They have some nice displays and we have already bought their video boards in the past. I did some digging and found some examples of baseball displays they have done....

Any thoughts on these examples? I personally think the Georgia scoreboard is really nice quality, just not sure I like the setup of where the stats are displayed... seems a little confusing and not friendly to the eye.

I think I'd rather the video board that the St. Lucie Mets have pictured below where the board is solely used for video and statistical info while they still used a conventional scoreboard underneath it with the box style innings and R H ER boxes.

On a side note, the Daktronics website actually has a picture of one of the boards we bought on our Campus at the corner of Rex Street. http://www.daktronics.com/ProductsSe...s/default.aspx

New board will have similar setup as what we have now. 16:9 video screen on the left with a traditional scoreboard on the right.
