the owners of stabill drill did, right out of their account. they have long been big time supporters of baseball. neither ken or gerald sought out some new donor and convinced them to open their check book.

There is NO "organized" fundraising...for ANYTHING...going on right now. As with the scoreboard issue, everything is quite and haphazard. Sometimes, I am amazed that we actually get the funds we do get.

I agree with this sentiment for the most part. But this was not supposed to be a 2013 project. The failure of the graphics board and the further corrosion of bulb sockets in the board forced their hand. I imagine the manufacturer gave some sort of deadline. If this is a new project, to be installed by May, their has to be a certain lead time. Kudos to the Russos for stepping up and making this happen. I highly doubt this was in the budget for this year. We're lucky to have fantastic boosters like this.

I think they took it down for maintenance. Something about posting the MP on it.

Yes, but do you realize if the university would have come forward about a new scoreboard needed instead of rolling out the old burnt box, we'd be in a wayyy better situation. This boggles my flipping mind, I don't understand how this doens't do the same to anyone else.

It's simple. We are in desperate need of something, but it's not publically known, so the funds aren't being raised because the fans seem to think everything's taken care of. Why not ASK FOR MONEY....???? Instead of going behind closed doors (which is still a very reliable option), how about put together donation drives, something! We could have been raising just "Scoreboard" money for quite some time, then cap it all off with a big donation like we had this week.

I don't think we do things the right way for the most part. FWIW, I know a lot of people that would have given as much as possible for a scoreboard fund, but it's hard to direct people on how much to give, where to give, whom to give to, when no one's asking.....

Thats the bad azz marketing ideas that are getting the RCAF nowhere fast!
