When I was attending UL in the mid-70's, a bar called 'The Cabaret" occupied that location for a few years after Locke & Key shut down. I happened to frequent that establishment quite often.

Can anyone trace the ownership history of Pete's. Before and after Nelson.

Blue dog is where Chez Pastour's use to be. They are the folks whom run T'Freres bed and breakfast on Verot. Best B&B in town. Chez Pastour's was the place to be seen in the 70's/80's. had a rep with oil field folks and ladies of the night... Very good food to. Later turned into some wagon wheel lunch joints before Santillo opened Blue Dog after their first restaurant (cafe t' George) burned down on Johnston st. I stood in the parking lot with George and the other owner as it burned. Lots of expensive art was in that place.

Jolie's is the former Ruth Chris which use to be a smaller one story place. When Ruth Chris moved into the current location, a guy rebuilt the place into a two story strip club. Same guy that turned the old Ice House on Pinhook into a strip joint. Both failed of course... George opened up Jolie's for his wife..

So much for a trip down memory lane...while I still have a memory..

As a side note.....I've tried almost every restaurant in this town. Jolie's definitely is in the top five and probably the top two. These guys are the real deal.

What's cool is when you book the back room at Pete's for your fantasy football draft a month in advance, and when you show up on draft day, they have given it to another group. What's also cool is when the internet goes out, right before the start of your draft.

Pete's is a dump plain & simple. There's no saving it.

Only a massive Reno. And change in ownership.
