Errol Rogers said Wednesday that he was ready to go to work. He better be, if he expects to continue UL’s recent women’s basketball success.
Rogers, a native of Lake Charles who coached on the prep level in Acadiana for over a decade before moving to the college ranks, was introduced as the Ragin’ Cajuns’ new women’s basketball coach Wednesday.
Shortly thereafter, the former Mississippi State assistant said that some of the pieces are in place for UL to make another run at the NCAA Tournament next season after this year’s 25-9 mark that included an at-large NCAA berth.
“I’m impressed with this team,” Rogers said, addressing an assembled group that included most of the returnees from last year’s squad. “I told them last night that we can keep this going to the next level.”
