I also wrote "don't get me wrong I'm not trying to say it doesn't have an effect." in that same paragraph.
If that's not clear enough for you I'll state my opinion again: I believe that being in the Sun Belt Conference has a detrimental effect on recruiting at UL. Clear enough?
Yes, when you then follow that phrase with an entire paragraph in which you then try to minimize its effect it belies your claim that you believe that. You cold have skipped that entire post and replaced it with that single declarative statement.
Btw, which horseman are you?
My bad, you didn't follow it, you preceded it with a bunch of crap. Like that made a difference. It still boils down to your dumbass once again arguing with a guy who spends much more time than you analyzing recruiting and talking to recruits. And they have flat out told him that our conference affiliation was a factor in their decision to go elsewhere with CUSA being elsewhere.
Still not buying it.
We will have 10 SBC schools made up of 5 current SBC members, 2 former WAC members and 3 FCS move-ups.
CUSA will have 14 schools made up of 5 current CUSA members, 5 current SBC schools, 2 former WAC members, and 2 FCS move-ups.
About those current CUSA members..... Are we afraid of UAB? Don't think so. Do we recruit against UTEP and Marshall much? Don't think so. That leaves Rice and USM. Yes, they have beaten us in recruiting in most years, but that's the point. Nothing has changed in that we are still in a different league than they and we will still have difficulties recruiting against them.
All of this hand wringing going on in regards to "recruiting against the schedule" just makes no sense.
The only evidence we have(this year's class) proves my point.
Also, every time some of you state that we will never be able to recruit good enough players with the new SBC schedule, you insult all of the guys we signed this year and all of the guys we will sign in the future.
Some of you sound like you are recruiting for other schools with all of the negativity.
Do you think Boise whined about "recruiting against their schedule" all of those years they were passed over by the MWC?
Boise State also benefits from extremely low admission standards.
