Otherwise, there would be no reason to take both Florida schools which in reality almost share the same market. CUSA is taking WKU because of basketball and their other programs.

All right, I'll give you that.

But, there are more ways than that to make money for your league, and WKU wins tourney games.

    Tourney wins = $$$$$$$$$

Maybe I missed the memo on those vauted powerhouses of Charlotte, Old Dominion, and the FU twins. They pick markets. That's how they roll man.

    And, I just don't care.

I don't care because I believe we control our destiny, not whether or not we are in the second, third, or fourth ranked non-major conference.

We are better than all of this garbage. We will continue to prove it over and over again.

Or am I wrong? Maybe I just haven't lost enough sleep over the fact that we won't have Middle Tennesse State and Florida International anymore as cconference mates. We'll have to play Texas State and Georgia State instead. OH THE HUMANITY!!!!!!!!!!

    C'mon Man.
I don't disagree that we "could" control an improved personal destiny if our administration got their act together. A lot of the preparedness work should have already been done, and we wouldn't be having this discussion.

I'm not blown away by the new CUSA by any means. CUSA does use TV market as a primary program picker strategy. But, the SBC uses "who's left over or left out" as their strategy. UL would gain by the CUSA TV market group on bowls and TV revenue over what the SBC's capable of accomplishing for us as a conference. The overall opponent matchups, team by team, are not impressive in either case.

Our future is hinged heavily on powerfully bold decisions made or not made by our administration.

We don't Rock, HUD does. When he leaves we will be left in the worst conference in the Countet with an idiot for an AD and will once again suck a s s and return to being the laughing stock of the country and the butt of all football jokes.

Nothing in life is a guarantee. And, when Hud leaves, we will not return to the ineptness of the previous adminstration. That is an insult to everybody who works their tail off making the RCAF run, to everyone in the Administration who has worked to bring forth all of the facility improvements and budget improvements the past several years, and every player we have.

    Nice dude.

If we can't get in this round, that will mean we can't even back in by default, which is pathetic

Let me take the suspense away for you. We ain't gettin' no CUSA invite. Deal with it.

Can't control who cusa invites, so why even try. I guess you can't fail if you never try. That's a great mentality. Work their tails off? Really? We won't go back once HUD leaves, you said it yourself, nothing is guaranteed. You don't think that when HUD leaves because he is tired of getting the run around, that other coaches will find out? Coaching is like a fraternity, everyone will know our AD is a joke to work for and that he is full of empty promises. I agree we won't get the invite, but it's because of the lack of vision snd aggression of this administration. It's because they are comfortable trying to be the biggest turd in the crapper.

Man, that last remark has to be the most negative post I've ever read on Ragin Pagin. I don't believe it for a minute either.

So when will CUSA invite us? I hoped us smashing attendance records in back to back NOLA Bowls would be enough to get us a look from a better conference but it seems it doesn't matter.

I think we're the next in line after WKU, and that we'll get into CUSA before July. Lots of things will happen between now and June 30.

I still dont see what breaking bowl attendance records means to CUSA if we can't even average half that at home

It would seriously have helped us to have had a budget and facilities upgrade plan and a campaign at the ready during those football program successes. If the plan, as I understand it to exist via the privileged few that have access to it, is to launch our facility plan and budget increase plans in the near future, perhaps our admin also knows our new parameters meet some new conference association's minimum entry requirements.

If not, I guess we're about to launch an expensive "hope for change" campaign to get fans and supporters to get more interested in a crappier group of conference member athletic match-ups, in order to pay for these increases, than we've seen for half a century.

But, knowing Dr. Savoie wouldn't poke us in the butt with a sharp stick only to have 1000 sharp sticks jammed in his, I feel confident he is about to blow the doors wide open in our athletic system and gain multiple improved conference invites.

Half? You need to recalculate. Over the past two years, we averaged 27k at Cajun Field. That isn't a bad home attendance as CUSA goes.

I hope you are right but I remember when CUSA was established back in 95. Most of us thought we would get in within a few years.
