Tech would have been in a bowl. If Davidson and their AD weren't idiots. Putting your football program and basketball program in the Top 25 in the same year is a huge deal. Plus, they are going to a new stronger regional conference, with USM, UAB, Rice, etc. While our conference is imploding.

In football, Tech also beat two BCS schools, while taking a very good A&M team to the wire on national television. Our national television games . . . not so impressive. I actually don't worry about Tech that much, but I can look at their accomplishments this year and say their sports year was much much better than ours. I think they've benefited greatly from smart scheduling, but no one will remember the schedules they played. Look at their BCS opponents in football next year, and see who is setting themselves up for more BCS wins next year.

Obviously, Louisiana Tech's basketball program has never recovered from many, many years of all of that extensive, program killing, WAC travel.

I agree it never should have happened. But in reality, the downfall of the SBC = the downfall of the Cajuns and Western Kentucky.

Tech doing work this year. Tech wasn't in a bowl b/c they turned it down. So don't act like they didn't get a bowl invite. Lets rank the top 2 money making sports, shall we. 2012 Tech football > UL football, 2012 Tech basketball > UL basketball. Jelly much?....I think so. True Ruston is in BFE but the athletic dept is putting in work unlike ULL's athletic dept. Its ran by a guy that wears a donkey ___ as a hat. I don't know why the hell bring up La Tech. I personally don't give a rat's backside about Tech. Only good thing about Ruston, it is a good place to take a dump between Jackson, MS and Texas when on I-20. Don't give them cred of any type on a UL site.

Bottom line, UL basketball and the SBC just sucks. No, not a flamer, find my post under Don Allen to see how much I use to care if you have any doubts. We have not had a coach worth a flip since Bobby P. We had Marty the clown, Jessie and the thugs, Robert's lost adventure and I don't know what the heck Marlin is doing, other the regurgitating the same thing every year, "Well, we are young." Positive consistency is what has been lacking with the coaches we have had. One good year does not make a good coach. Pull it off a few years in a row. I don't see what the challenge is in the SBC, once a strong mid major that sometimes received multiple NCAA bids, now a play in game to the NCAA tournament joke.

Clearly the reason for the post was to alert some with their heads in the sand how well we could be, should be doing instead of what is actually happening. Nobody gives a rats a $$ about LTU, it is just a way to contrast how much we suck and have zero relevance compared to a school with similar circumstances.

He is also young and more in touch with today's athlete. Similar to HUD in that aspect.

Oh man, my dream scenario would be for them to finish the season by losing in their conference title game, not making the cut for the NCAA tournament, and then turning down the NIT because it was beneath them. It seems like something their athletic department would do too.

While a bad coach can win with talent, there are two things you never see from a bad coach.

1) Turn a season around at the mid-way point.
2) Win in their sophomore year.

There are a 1000 things that can lead to a bad season but those are two things you never see from a bad coach. You have a good head coach in Mike White.
