One of my friends referred to the UL Presidential search as the most under the table out in the open process he's ever seen. I would have to agree.

The open search is a crock of _____. Can u imagine another university being subjected to this crap?
Lets just say youre interested... You are a VP or dept head at a Miami, Georgia, Michigan, etc....you have been schmoozing the big wigs for years, bringing in the big bucks for you university programs. You throw your name in the hopper over here for all to see. You dont get the job here...Credibility SHOT!!!
Sally Clausen is a huge bimbo. She has the same qualifications for the "missionary" position as she does for the Head of the UL system. She is bound and determined to make sure all schools in the UL system are on an even keel.

I wonder if it will take as long for them to find a new President as it did to find a new AD.
We had an AD for the last couple of years. He is the same guy we have now, and he is very good.

Two former UL faculty members are among the new applicants interested in becoming UL’s next president.
As of Wednesday, Charles Alcocer, an oil and gas consultant and former UL petroleum engineering faculty member, and David Manuel, a former UL economics dean, added their names to the roster of applicants.
Three other applications were also released this week.
There are now 21 applicants. Among them, Alocer is the only applicant who lives in Lafayette or in Louisiana.
The deadline for applications is Monday with the search committee meeting on Wednesday to review the applications.

Alcocer is an idiot. He was one of the worst instructors in the Petroleum Department in the mid '80s
