UL Presidential Selection Process

The open search is a crock of _____. Can u imagine another university being subjected to this crap?

Lets just say youre interested... You are a VP or dept head at a Miami, Georgia, Michigan, etc....you have been schmoozing the big wigs for years, bringing in the big bucks for you university programs. You throw your name in the hopper over here for all to see. You dont get the job here...Credibility SHOT!!!

Sally Clausen is a huge bimbo. She has the same qualifications for the "missionary" position as she does for the Head of the UL system. She is bound and determined to make sure all schools in the UL system are on an even keel.

We had an AD for the last couple of years. He is the same guy we have now, and he is very good.

I agree that he is good, but my gripe was that the University dragged the process out and didn't let us know what was going on.

The point though is that we were in such good hands with DW that we didn't need to speed up the process - as might have been the case in different circumstances.

I agree. However, it is only in hindsight that I can say that.

Two former UL faculty members are among the new applicants interested in becoming UL’s next president. As of Wednesday, Charles Alcocer, an oil and gas consultant and former UL petroleum engineering faculty member, and David Manuel, a former UL economics dean, added their names to the roster of applicants. Three other applications were also released this week. There are now 21 applicants. Among them, Alocer is the only applicant who lives in Lafayette or in Louisiana.
