From my understanding and what i've heard about Joe is that at his current post he fights for UL everyday and is a very loyal UL supporter. I would like to hear his explanation on that sentence before I go burning the house down. I think he deserves that. My question is if he comes to UL, who is going to do the job that Joe does now?
When does this get decided?
I hate to get back on topic just to redirect, but is anybody else wondering how they whittled down to 5 so fast? I checked out the UL system page with all the resumes and I don't think i could have read everything, much less decided who the top 5 were. Also, do a couple of the top 5 not seem as good as some of the others who didn't make it? Just wondering what everybody is thinking.
Considering how bad the majority of the other candidates were it was probably pretty easy to get it down to 5. And you are right that one or two fo the ones that made the cut did not look as qualified on paper as a couple that got left out but they help the appearence of "diversity".
Howdy y'all. I'm a UL alum, class of 2004, and am studying in minor seminary at St. Joseph Seminary College in St. Benedict, LA (right outside of Covington). Any St. Tammany parish people in here???????????
The other other day we had a presentation of some endowed professorships and T-Joe (Savoie) came for the presentation. I must say that he is one of the nicest guys I met, very easy to talk to, and when I told him good luck on the UL presidency thing, he had a good attitude and was humble as well. I don't know who the other four are, but he's got my vote!
God Bless
p.s.- How hard would it be to get a St. Tammany Parish Alum chapter started up?
Perhaps I can dissuade you from what bothers you. I once wrote to a girl "I look forward to spending a wonderful evening with you"... when a large part of me was thinking "I look forward to getting naked with you". I chose not to lie. But, I also chose my words carefully. I considered my audience, my mission, and selected words that provided the appropriate opening line.
It's called the art of successful negotiation. It works.
I will not support someone that is so much of an idiot that he/she makes a public record that sacks their chances of succeeding... if you know what I mean. But, I will also not support a liar. I think the choice of words were intelligent. That, I will support.
Thought this forum would like to know that both Steve Landry and Joe Savoie were at the game tonight, given that they seem to be the logical front-runners to take over next year. I saw a couple of questions about their respective attitudes about Cajun Football earlier and thought there might be some interest in knowing. Geaux Cajuns, beat A-State!
