The best part of an ls who broadcast is when doug moreau has to correct hawthorne in such a way that it makes it obvious that he is an idiot or going senile. Doesn't it sound like they want to fight sometimes?

On the football broadcasts, Jay has too much dead air, even with Gerald in the booth (I like what the big guy brings to the party, especially when he's talkn x's and o's)...Jay is overmodulated when he describes a big play and THERE IS NO CROWD NOISE to be heard. Jay takes a breath, dead air, pull the crowd mike up a notch or two to at least cover for the dead air. I'm not a pro, I just play one here....
Speaking of play by play at the college level.....Best Basketball PBP ever, any era, anytime, any team.....hands down Don Allen. Don could work a beard growing contest and make it exciting. No dead air there...
Best College Football Play by Play is Woody Durham, one time and now retired voice of the UNC Tarheels. There is no dead air, mistakes, second takes, etc when Woody was mike side...a wealth of information, always down, distance, score, and could recognize a play better than the color guy. That being said, Woody couldn't carry Don's jock with Baskeball, even if it was Carolina. Worst pro football play by play radio is the 3 jock sniffers who work Carolina Panther games....as pathetic as the Carolina franchise....
Although I would sometimes like a break in Stevie :P's chatter, I do so appreciate his care, his interest and his color. I also appreciate the sponsors for Ragin Cajun Softball. Thank you all very much! When I can't get to a game, I am so thankful that I can at least hear the game. Sometimes you just have to be patient. It is not easy talking into a microphone when the conditions are not ideal. Like today, he must have been sitting in the opponent's dugout. They were LOUD! This is not his fault. He does the best he can. Thank you, Stevie P.
Actually, there are no ISDN connections at the softball park, so Steve's been doing all the games on his cell phone with a headset sitting at a folding table just in between the backstop and grandstand seating, and shares the folding table with other announcers or persons with laptops & wireless cards who are update internet scoring (I'm guessing). I guess you can understand some outside noise.
Keep in mind that this is not a college facility, but more like one of the rec parks in Lafayette. The are a set of four fields all together (like Pelican Park, except smaller) where we played Friday, and the one we played on Saturday had two fields side by side. I think we'll be back at these on Sunday for a single game.
jack hunt.....mike hunt......jack/mike........mike/jack.......WTF is the difference. The guy that caught the ball was named DEVERY.
That would be like if when Brett Baer kicked the FG in the '11 New Orleans Bowl, and Jay would have called him Emeka Onyenekwu repeatedly on the air.
