Call em STATE. They hate that.
My dispute with LSU administration is minor compared to fans. Let me recall LSU administration doing whatever they can to remain above everyone else. Not nice. LSU fan sucker punched me, and later got showered with something wet from above in Tiger Stadium.
No, no not all fans are total idiots but enough to find them to be complete a holes. Now maybe you think I should only be upset with the puncher and the tosser of liquid. Well I can assure you while the vast majority do not do that, they certainly condone it, and chuckle about it.
Now please, I understand you want us to be civil and all that, do not lecture the Cajun fans on how and what they should be and do. We actually have a security force that enforces excessive behavior by Cajun fans, but not so at LSWHO.
A quick look and a very basic Daktronics 20' scoreboard will set you back about 13K plus shipping, installation etc. and this isn't close to the scoreboard that we would want to install. Add an LED video display and you definitely are beyond the 50K mark and I suspect much higher than that but couldn't find any reliable data.
No doubt it is time for an upgrade.
We can raise that in no time. We just need numbers..... This isn't difficult to do.
1 golf tournament = new scoreboard
Not showing anything about it on ESPN3 site
This is what is so frustrating, it is like we have this wall of steel between us and the athletic department. I mean how difficult is it to publicize this is what we are thinking of and bam donations start flying in. No one is going to give blindly unless they are filthy rich!
How about doing TWO seperate 50/50's at the home baseball games. Have one called in the 5th and one called in the 9th. The first pot, half goes to baseball program as always and the other half goes to the winning ticket number as always. But, on the second go-round, have half go to the scoreboard fund and the winning ticket holder....?
This alone will raise over $2500 per weekend series
How about another jersey auction?
What about hosting a jambalaya, gumbo, chili, bbq cookoff of some sort on an away series. Have it on the Saturday morning at the Tigue and have the game being run through the Tigues' PA system. Make an entry fee of "X" amount with all proceeds going to the scoreboard fund.
FOOD FOR THOUGHT....may be too complex though????
We couldn't get the hardware in place in time to get the transmission to ESPN so we had to drop it off the schedule.
The game will still be streamed live on ragincajuns.com.
