I have no idea if your old enough the remember the old USFL but it was dong pretty good until they decided to move the season to the fall to compete with the NFL. Also competing against the NFL for talent was a big mistake. I forget what Steve Young was paid for the LA Express but it was an outrageous sum for the time. There's a market for Spring football.
Ultimately everything fails. If this league ever actually gets off the ground, it might have a chance to be a true minor league for the NFL. The NFL has priced themselves out of my budget. A family of four would be looking at $500 a game for the Saints! You make a valid point with the WFL, USFL, WLAF and lastly the XFL folding in short order. Oh yes. NFL Europe ultimately failed . I almost forgot that one. If the USFL does make it back to Louisiana I hope they keep the Breakers name and logo. I think they had some of the best uniforms ever!
