Thread: Illegal Pitch Ends Pitching Duel. UL Wins!

  1. Default Illegal Pitch Ends Pitching Duel. UL Wins!

Louisiana, La. - Samantha Walsh won’t be credited with a plate appearance in the seventh inning of Sunday’s Ragin’ Cajun softball 3-2 victory over Texas State, but it will be a trip to the plate not forgotten by Ragin’ Cajun fans. Walsh was at the plate with two outs, and the bases loaded, when an illegal pitch brought home senior Matte Haack, and sent the Cajuns home happy, and their sixth straight win.

This was a very close game all the way to the end. Very entertaining.

I bet that left handed pitcher that shut down the cajuns all game is very bummed that she couldnt finish the game.

I am pretty sure the Tx State people were not willing to pitch to Draheim, or Hacck, instead putting all their marbles on getting outstanding freshman Landry to give up the last out. When that blew up in their faces they bring in another pitcher who promptly makes an illegal pitch.

Not going to shed a single tear for the young pitcher who went lame. Hamilton went though a lot of pain, and anguish in her freshman season, nobody from the other teams felt the least bit sorry for her.

Enjoy the win fully, we will lose some we shoulda won. In fact if you believe Stevei P maybe we should never have been in this position to begin with on an awful call at first in an earlier inning. Maybe we should have had the bases loaded with no outs instead of one.

It was a horrible call at first in the 4th or 5th inning. We should have been tied at worst going into the bottom of the 7th. These ladies played their buts off to come back.

    Geaux Cajuns!!

As soon as the home plate blue had the left hand extended out I knew we were going home with a W. Nice effort by our team.

Nice that the UL staff article cited the rule to silence any debate.
