I would rather go somewhere that I'm really wanted, get playing time almost instantly and still get a free ride.
Absolutely, this guy got thrown under the bus by LSU and I do not blame him for exploring elsewhere. I do not believe he took the time to visit Latech and UL if he was not at least considering those schools as options. I just hope we made a good impression on him, because UL could use him and no doubt he would start as a true freshman.

I'm not sure he would start as a true freshman.

He would definitely be given a fair opportunity

I agree. Just don't know if he beats out Ringo or Hamilton as a true FR

He would be a great addition to the ball club but I am not a fan of him trying to repair his broken ego as suggested by others. Ego is one of the only poisons that doesn't kill you if swallowed.

If my kid was a d1 athlete who got his scholarship pulled a few weeks before signing day, I would encourage him to take as much time and as many visits necessary to find a replacement school.

I am just thinking of all the possible angles to get him to UL---His neighbor down the road Mr Perkins might tell him about UL being honest with him and getting him to our place!!!! did they plat against each other??

To be fair, I would expect a recruit to do the same to us if the roles were reversed. Over offering kids to a limited amount of scholarships is unfair in my eyes and feeds into the system that is out of control because of money. College sports to me are the best but seem to be tainted more every year.

Lawson took two courses last summer that weren't accepted by the Clear House, so he is not eligible. He can go to summer school and eventually become eligible. LSU has the opportunity to sign another DL that was highly rated and is eligible so the told Lawson should he become eligible they would have a scholarship for him. The definition of a grey-shirt is basically a walk-on. The athlete will wait to sign with the same program with the next class, but can enroll in January like Dominik Bilich. There are some kids that are willing to wait to sign with schools like LSU rather then sign with lower programs. The Cajuns offered Benny Logan and Edwards a full ride before they committed to LSU and were asked to grey-shirt.
