Thread: Mbamalu Scores 24 as Ragin' Cajuns Race past ULM, 90-66

  1. Default Mbamalu Scores 24 as Ragin' Cajuns Race past ULM, 90-66

Bryant Mbamalu came off the bench to lead six Cajuns in double figures with 24 point as Louisiana used a 24-0 run in the second half to break open a close game and run away with a 90-66 decision over ULM on Sunday night in the Dean O’s Pizza Dome.

Except for a second-half stretch of about six-and-a-half minutes, it was a tight one between UL and ULM on Sunday night at the Cajundome.

    A tie game, in fact.

But the Ragin' Cajuns used a 24-0 run over a span of 6:31 for all they separation they would need in a 90-66 Sun Belt Conference win over the Warhawks.

What a heckuva game to watch. Always nice to see the Warchickens get their panties handed to them.

“We took Steven out early in the second half because he committed a bad turnover and then didn’t get back defensively and gave up a layup. I don’t think he liked that because when he went back in, he was relentless.”
These are the kind of players Marlin needs in his system, and the reason we had such high player turnover in the past two seasons. I think the players of old would have sulked on the bench, and sulked the entire subsequent week of practice. No first hand experience, so this is obviously just my opinion.

Also, I wonder if La'Ryan Gary's addition to the staff is creating even more cohesiveness between the players and coaches?

ETA: I also believe all current players fit this mold, wasn't singling out Wronkowski.

I saw Shawn Long get pretty upset last night when he got subbed out, but then when he went back in his demeanor was very different. I saw him laughing with Payton and another teammate when lining up for a foul shot. Good to see, because his mannerisms worried me at the beginning of the season.

I think Shawn was more upset and frustrated with himself than with coach for being subbed. he came back in and played with a vengeance.

I agree. I wasn't trying to say he was mad about being taken out (what many would consider being a Prima Donna). Just saying that he did a lot of this early in the season, but so far it doesn't seem to be affecting him or the team negatively. Players get frustrated with themselves or situations during game time. I get it. But as long as everyone takes it in stride, all is well with me.

This team has great chemistry, you can see it when they come to women's games at EKL.
