The Trojans will be looking to build on their recent success this weekend as they play host to the Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns in what will be a battle of two Sun Belt title contenders.

"I think the Coastal Carolina weekend did this club a lot of good as far as getting back on track and believing in each other," Troy head coach Bobby Pierce said, referring to his team's series victory over the Chanticleers last weekend.

Besides the momentum, the Trojans may also have benefited from some of the inclement weather that was pushing through Troy this week.

Troy was scheduled to play a mid-week game against the Samford Bulldogs on Tuesday. However, the game was rained out forcing the Trojans to reschedule for May 1st.

"That kind of had the routine of the week off," Pierce said. "But for some it was a chance to get caught up on some school work and get more comfortable with that. As a whole, the week off from playing any games might have helped us as well."

The Trojans will need every bit of help they can garner when they host the Ragin' Cajuns. Lafayette finished second in the Sun Belt standings last season behind one of the strongest ballclubs Troy has ever fielded. But the Cajuns are generally the team to beat every year.
