The St. Landry Parish Council introduced a proposal Wednesday night to bring a two cent sales tax to the voters on the November ballot to improve road conditions in rural parts of the parish.
Many of you asked us where do the taxes collected from Evangeline Downs go?
Fifty-five percent of the money goes directly back to the parish. St. Landry Parish President Bill Fontenot tells us that money is routinely budgeted for road and bridge maintenance only.
The other 45 percent of Racino money goes to other areas of the parish:
