Perhaps he meant getting the father on faculty as the trifecta? That offer was out there but when discovered by the media the offer was pulled.

Recruiting is a dirty game. Think about Moneyball. Same way of thinking...there are a level of teams we cannot compete against monetarily and probably never will. We have to turn their game against them. How do we do that? Look for kids that fly under the radar. The similarities between Elijah McGuire and Kevin Spears are many...but only one is a four star recruit and that's only because LSU had a need at WR and not at RB thanks to Leonard Fournette being the next big thing LSU wants to outspend Alabama for, otherwise LSU would have offered McGuire in a heartbeat.
