UL Baseball Cajuns Are #1 In The Conference!!!

The UNIVERSITY OF LOUISIANA RAGIN' CAJUNS broke out the whooping-sticks tonight scoring their 8 runs on the night on 4 home runs to beat WKy 8-2 at the Tigue. Buddy Glass pitched 8 solid innings to get the W and Danny Farquhar was nails in the 9th to get another save. Since the moanrovians LOST to FAU tonight 3-1, that gives the CAJUNS sole posession of 1st place in the Sun Belt Conference standings.

    WAY TO GEEEAAAUUUX CAJUNS!!!!!!!!

Coming into the 9th up by six runs is not a save situation. In fact, I was wondering why Robe did not save Farquhar for tomorrow.

Buddy had 118 pitches under his belt and was struggling at the end of the 8th inning. After what happened last Sunday, I say it was a good decision.

I agree with Brian. I would have taken Buddy out... but with what I Sunday pitching has looked like lately, I would have relieved him with someone else.

I was not suggesting that Buddy stay in the game. I was suggesting that someone other than Farquhar pitch the ninth. For instance, Laughter. I would like to see some of the others in the bullpen log some more innings as they will be needed in the postseason. A six run lead in the ninth is one of those situations where risk of losing the lead (especially at home) is minimized.

I agree, I wonder if Robe was thinking of that 9 run inning? WKU bats are not FIU bats.

Yes ... except that he did it last week as well. Although Farquhar was already in the game (having had pitched the 7th and 8th innings), Farquhar also pitched the ninth while the Cajuns were up 10-3.

Doesn't matter. Danny only threw about 10 pitches last night.

Very bad decision by Robe. Farquar is eating up too many innings for a closer and your up 6 runs. Bad move anyway you slice it..

That is not true. A reliever throws a lot more pitches in the bullpen. There is cost in just getting them up to get warm.

That would be "you are" or "you're", not "your".

So true. He only threw 10 pitches but the warmup in the bullpen and the warmup before the inning started and before you know he threw 50 pitches all together. 50 pitches that was unnecessary.
