The Cajuns find themselves in a similar scenario as their last trip to Troy (Feb. 4, 2012). Like a year ago, the Trojans are winless in Sun Belt play.

This game, to me, is a foundational game, not only for the rest of the season, but for next season. There are, in my opinion, four winnable games left for the Cajuns, this being one of them, along with the return game here and the 2 Monroe games. I'm not saying they can't win the other games, but Troy, Monroe and the Cajuns have just a little bit less to work with than the rest of the conference. I believe our ladies have the heart to win these games and be successful in this league, but I believe they need to win to gain the confidence to know they can win. I expect the Cajuns to take both games Saturday.
I know it is hindsight now, but the girls will probably struggle the rest of the season. The main reason no depth on the bench. There are getting tired down the stretch. You can't ask 7 of them to carry a team all season. The other reason is we only have 1 girl 6 foot tall or above. When she goes out we have 5 guards on the court.
All that being said I still plan on following them to Hot Springs for the tournament.
Geaux Cajuns!!
