Pistol Offense...Here to stay in NFL

Dilfer is on ESPN giving praise to the offense, Kapernick and the 49ers.

He says its so hard to stop and there is no answer for it in the NFL. This is the offense for the next generation QB.

With that said the Cajuns, Jay Johnson, and
Broadway are in good shape.

After watching the 49ers offensive success, what do you think of the pistol offense?

This will not be the offense of the 21st century.

Reason? Many, lets just start with the fact that there cannot be that many dual threat quarterbacks of that high level of competence running and throwing. In addition they are moore likely to get knocked out for several or more games in a season, who will be the effective backup.

So in short, short supply of these players. Predict most Super Bowls, and conference champs will be the likes of Manning, Brees, Brady,Rodgers, and of core Manning the young some mobility and great arms and minds.

The last person I need telling me about quarterbacks is Dilfer, who rode a great defense and hit one quick strike pass to an outstanding Brandon Stokely for his ring. He is however; a great studio quarterback.

It certainly has helped that this (read option out of pistol) was the offense he ran in college where his head coach, Chris Ault is credited as the creator of the pistol..
