Simply as a measure of how far the Cajuns have come in football over the last three years, the four page thread on TD in their recruiting section on this issue tells me quite a bit. I'm not bashing anyone, but the fact that the diehards of an SEC program are conversing/complaining/discussing/bemoaning a recriut of theirs visiting UL this weekend, is a long way from where we were four years ago at this time. The very fact that they are talking tells me Hud and his coaching staff have moved us several knotches above where were. If Boutte does come over, and we hold the other "high end" verbals who have scholarships in hand from other SEC/BIG 10/ ACC type schools, may say as much as back to back bowl wins about where this program is in the college football cosmos (although I know the bowl wins and recruiting are related). .

One of the points that I think people are missing is that a bunch of kids would rather go to school at UL and NOT LSU---When Stokley was here we were in a position where we were taking some kids from LSU (Just shows how we have had the potential all along) ---I think Lafayette as a city wins over BR and that is a great starting point---The culture also wins over so many and the POINT IS that we aren't faking this ---This is who we are!!!! So when the differential in the athletic part narrows we become very appreciated!!! And finally we are seeing Cajuns coming back home from their fling with LSU as supporters and now growing RCAF and other Foundation associations!!! And did I mention the new President, AD, and Coach and his staff??????

Boomer don't forget a 3 star kid can be a big time player at UL and not languish on the bench at LSU. If you want to run out on the field go the LSU. If you want to play and get noticed, come to UL.

The retards in that thread are hilarious. While, yes, his GF being here may be some motivation for coming visit, they fail to acknowledge the reason he became interested in the first place. And a big part of that reason is the fault of crappy LSU fans. If it's just a "courtesy visit" like some of them are saying then why was his commitment changed to a soft verbal?

They usually make it a soft verbal if you're still taking visits, from what I gather. I would be surprised if he switched his commitment but it's nice that we're getting these guys in for visits.
