I thought the best was when Elfrid did a crossover-drove the lane and went up and over Tony Mitchell to slam it in his face. Somewhere around the 5 min mark.
Mitchell did have 4 fouls howeever, and really couldn't contest it.
When the double technical was called. The ref that called the first T (I think on elridge) didn't see the UNT open hand ______ slap him when Elridge was setting a pick.
I have to say I thought about 60% of the NT offense last night was on fast breaks or pushing the ball up court after made baskets to create easy open shots or layups. When they had to run a set offense, they didn't do nearly as well. You also have to be impressed by Mitchell's jumping ability. He's very quick off the floor and really gets up in the air, even though one of his blocks last night was an obvious goal tending that wasn't called. I also agree he's a headcase, and taunting crowd after his one made three pointer was bush league.
Yes another great moment, I forgot about that one. There was the double technical, but it all started with a foul from UNT, I am not sure which guy but he did foul out on the play. After that we had the tech for retaliation and then their coach got one. I really thought their coach was very classless. I do not think you would have seen some of things we saw last night if Johnny Jones was still the coach. That is probably a good thing for us. Although we have owned them since Toni has been there. The game in the tournament last year we should have one, I thought is was the best game that I saw the Cajuns play last year.
Anyway I am still very excited about this team and hope they make a run in the tournament. I think the next 2-3 years will be fun and we will see more of what we saw last night.
I plan on making the trip to Hot Springs to watch both the men and women play and if the weather is nice a couple of rounds of golf.
Geaux Cajuns!!!
That UNT guy put a cheap hit on Moore and then Moore made a complaint to the ref. He must have said something in his complaint to warrant the T. I can understand. Moore plays with tons of energy and at times it's probably difficult for him to hold back.
Then the knucklehead from UNT that initiated the whole thing goes ahead and gets a T himself. I believe that was his 5th one too. That UNT coach should be embarrassed by the actions of his players last night.
9pm tonight according to the guide.
And Saturday at 12pm
