That has not been Bustle's pattern in the past; but I would like to see him do that. I would REALLY like for him to not have that decision to make.

I was kinda talking more about who you see as a potential starter in a few years, and how its gonna workout with 5 qb's of varying classifications on the team this year.

actually with MD in the game our running game always opened wide b/c every defense could not stop watching him. With Jerry i agree our running tended to close up b/c Jerry was not as big a threat on the ground. But if a defense constantly sends the pressure on MD, he will make them pay with a 60 yd scramble for a touchdown. Last year against troy when we put in Md in, Fenroy ran right down the field b/c the D could'nt take their eye off DES b/c of what he did to them the year before.

Mike D for the next two years, then one of this year's recruits, unless we change our system to suit Hundley's style of play. Both McGuire and Masson are similar to Desormeaux in style and athleticism. The fact that we recruited that type of QB rather than a 'Pro-style' QB like Hundley tells me that we plan to stay with the system we now run. Hundley could start as a senior if neither of the two recruits steps up between now and then.

I really like having a QB in all 5 classes. That system has worked GREAT for Texas Tech, even though kids there generally only start in their 5th year. Now TTU's spread is different from ours in some ways, but in general it is very similar; it creates seams by formation. The Raiders fill those seams with pass receivers, we fill them with Tyrel Fenroy or Mike Desormeaux [and with receivers, too, just not as often as Tech]..

I agree that because of the guys we recruited it shows that we are going to stick with the offense as it is now but it wouldn't be hard to tweak this offense to allow more of a passer to bridge the gap for a year to get to the younger guys. I like Hundley because I think he can only get better but 2 years from now I might feel differently. Start the best player, is my opinion, let everything else fall into place. If you have to go to more of a traditional running game to allow Hundley to prosper then so be it...I want to win I don't care how.

Oh, I completely agree. TTU's QB's have been more like Hundley than Desormeaux. It would be easy for us to tweak our offense to make it closer to theirs so that Hundley could prosper, I just don't think we will if one of the young guys steps up.

I love to run the ball, but like you, I want to win even if it means we throw 60 passes a game like TTU.

I think a running game gives you much more consistent play, thats why I like a strong running game. A passing game a lot of times is hit or miss because you have so many variables that come into play.

Another thing we might want to think about is 2 years from now Fenroy will be gone...and Wallace will be a SR but what if we have a problem finding a stable of running backs like we have now? It might be best to go to more of a passing game but that is 2 years from now, I am worried about the here and now. And the here and now has Fenroy and Desmo and I am happy with that.

Have you seen the clips on the two RB recruits from this year? They look pretty darn good on film, and against Texas 5A competition.

I have seen some film and your right it is impressive but you never know how they might do once they get to college ball. I think and hope they will do great but its hard to look 2 years down the road and predict. I want to stick with the running game we have going because I feel we are finally starting to get an identiy which UL has not had from some time. Watching the spring game I seen WR's put into position where they were able to make plays in space and I believe that adds that extra deminsion I wanted all of last year.

Who knows in 2 years we might see a similar stratagy like Florida had with the 2 QB system. I think we will start seeing a lot more of this type of system.
