Thread: RadioPup rediculousness

    Default RadioPup rediculousness

I was on my way to Houston Thursday night and said NO WORRIES! I've got my fancy shmancy RadioPup app to listen... Idk who operates this application, but good lord was it a sour disappointment. I had full bar 3G service the whole way and had 10 minute spurts of in-and-out RadioPup action every hour or so, continuously having to re-buff the app.

Not only if that wasn't highly annoying enough, after each media timeout, i was forced to listen to theme songs for the San Diego Chargers, Washington Redskins, Houston Oilers, New York Mets, and also songs about baseball and Joe Dimagio. What's worse is that they played the WHOLE SONG so it bled into Jay's play-by-play of the game.

I also listen to 103.7 The Game on the TuneIn Radio App and I've never had problems with it.

IMO, RadioPup only works when the user stays in one location.

On the positive side, if I ever go to a Redskins, Vikings, Packers, etc game, I'll be able to sing their fight song with ease

I have the same issues, but am willing to listen to it for the sake of Cajun sports on the road. I can tell you I would never spend a lot of time fighting it except for that.

That happened sitting at home, too. I'll hazard a guess that those songs are probably filler material for unsold advertising spots. Problem is that the Chicago Bears song sometimes runs through my head.

Maybe they can switch to a couple of songs I remember from my past:

    Angels song: http://710kmpc.com/Angels_0602220751.mp3

    L.A. Rams song: http://710kmpc.com/Rams.mp3

So is Google Maps, but you don't see it sending you to Mamou when you're trying to get to Houma

Don't forget about "Hooray for the Cincinatti Reds, the first team in the history of baaaaseball."

And gosh darnit that San Diego Chargers song jams. I catch myself dancing in my car when it comes on. People probably think I'm crazy when they pass by me.

Funny story. When I was watching the Redskins/Seahawks Wildcard game on TV a few weeks back, I was actually able to sing along to "Hail to the Redskins" when it was being piped through the stadium PA. WTF? I don't even like the Redskins. Damn you RadioPup!!

I absolutely HATE the stupid theme songs that they play. I change the radio station every single time this comes on. The company I work for advertises pretty heavily with TownSquare, and I don't see why this filler crap replaces air time of people who pay to be on the air. Play the UL fight song, or songs about the Saints. But who on God's green earth wants to listen to this jibber jabber on a local sports radio network. Give me Mr. Bitter's constant plugs of his sponsors any day over this pointless waste of time. Or just replay great radio clips from Jay from UL sporting events.
