Man Accused of Killing Dogs Trying to Clear His Name

A former Crowley Animal Shelter employee is trying to clear his name after being arrested last year.

Mike Edwards is maintaining his innocence. He was arrested last August after a number of dead, decapitated dogs were found behind the shelter. In December, a grand jury in the 15th Judicial District filed a no true bill on all charges. This means there was not enough evidence to indict him. Edwards was originally charged with three counts of aggravated cruelty to animals, five counts of obstruction of justice and one count of malfeasance in office.
