On February 16, 2013, the ABBEVILLE FIRE DEPARTMENT will team up with the LEUKEMIA and LYMPHOMA SOCIETY (LLS) for an event to raise proceeds for a special resident of Vermilion Parish. Cale Langlinais, is the 4-year-old son of Chad and Jenee Langlinais of Delcambre and Erath. Cale has battled Leukemia since 2010. Our goal is to help raise $50,000 to have the honor of naming a research grant in his honor through the LLS.
The ABBEVILLE FIRE DEPARTMENT and the LEUKEMIA and LYMPHOMA SOCIETY will host an autograph session with players from UL-LAFAYETTE, back-to-back champions of the 2011-2012 NEW ORLEANS BOWL. Coach Mark Hudspeth, Brett Baer, Harry Peoples, and many more 2012 players are scheduled to appear. In addition to Coach Hudspeth addressing the fired up fans, the team will be on hand to sign autographs and take pictures. Bring your jerseys, helmets, pictures and other RAGIN CAJUN gear to have signed. We are asking that a minimum donation of $20 for each person that pass through the line for autographs. All proceeds will go towards the LLS.
After the autograph session, everyone is welcome to come by the ABBEVILLE FIRE DEPARTRMENT to visit and take pictures with members of the ABBEVILLE FIRE DEPARTMENT and all the fire trucks and equipment.
The Meet the Cajuns event will take place at BLACK’S OYSTER BAR in ABBEVILLE on FEBRUARY 16, 2013 at 9:30 am to 12:30pm. We encourage everyone to come out and meet some of the best athletes LOUISIANA has to offer, and help raise money for a great cause.
