I've made the trip to Hammond the last 6 years. It ain't been pretty.

anyone know what time the team practices today?
College Baseball Today has published its rankings of the Top 298.
158- LOUISIANA (23-30)
It’s bizarre to see this program at the bottom rung of the Sun Belt standings. But 1B Chase Compton (.328), SS Ryan Leonard (.327) and 3B Tyler Girouard (.298) lead a solid D.

I just don't see the fire in Cajun baseball anymore.
Nor the Sunbelt, use to get preseason respect, now, nothing. I pray 'belt baseball is not going the way of basketball.
Lets focus on #138 Central Michigan first. A nice start bs them could garner a good bit of respect to start the season. Winnable games vs nw st and Utsa after that give us a good chance at a nice starting record through the first 8 games.
Cajuns baseball ranked in this poll. You'll have to scroll down, a little farther, there we are!!!! Note: "Louisiana"

OK, I'm waiting on our baseball guru to issue his evaluation.
The only thing that drives me nutz is the
persistent local call that we will be vastly improved this year, but will be really good next year.
Of course the next year syndrome is being applied to men basketball. Cajun fans are consistently confused with Jobe.
: o (
And there is more respect for SLU (#43)...LaTechie (#93)...and Monroe (#111) than us. Not a good state of affairs for this once proud program.
Let's see how the season unfolds. I, of course, will have my season tickets...and will be in attendance.
Mid week games don't mean jack but with that said you're going to get shut out by LSU again.
The only thing about being lowly ranked is how far the teams need to improve to have good RPI. Cajuns will respond well.
