    BATON ROUGE — Colleges and universities will again ask lawmakers to relinquish their tuition-setting authority, as budget cuts have repeatedly stripped financial resources from the schools, Louisiana Commissioner of Higher Education Jim Purcell said Tuesday.

    It's about FREAKIN time the legislature does so. You can't imagine the extent to which the body...and in some cases even individual members...attempt to micro-manage each and every aspect of each public university in the state. It's Mickey mouse.

    They will ask but you can bet your last dollar that the legislature will not give that up.

    In Huey Long's Louisiana the Legislature will have little to do with it. On that note I wonder what Jindal thinks about this?

    Jindal prolly is thinking...let them set their own tuition...means more tuition hikes...more budget cuts...more pork!!!! Now Westwego will have two convention centers!!!!
