Dude has some natural skills. Fast, reads his blocks well (pretty good O line)
strong enough to break tackles at the line of scrimmage. His return skills are extreme with one
exception...has the oopps...as in oopps he dropped the ball. Coaching will take care of that.
Funny thing is, he scores on returns whether he drops the ball or not. Got a good one here!

I watched one of his highlight tapes yesterday, and he is quite impressive. Surprised the heck out of me the way he breaks tackles for size, not as fast as I thought he would be, but that will improve during the summer. I believe he will redshirt this upcoming year, and then will replace Surgent on punt and kickoff returns

Yep, you can tell from the start of the video on the kickoff return he has no breakaway speed. Hoggins is a legit 4.37 40 kid, speed is exactly why they took the kid. Size has been the only question on Darius Hoggins.

Get better and better ---what is his 40 speed?? Seems tough enough but one thing to remember is that the shorter you are the less correction that can be made to an overthrown pass!!!! Think of Robinson going in the air or maybe Jared Johnson!!!

I was gonna say.. I was watching a South Florida high enrollment classification highlight video in which the kid I was watching was NEVER run down from behind and rarely caught with an angle. I don't care if he 'looked' slow; the guy has wheels.

If you are always 10 yards away from the last defender, why would you run harder? Trying to pull a hammy? Some people's children...dude can roll, and I was surprised at how many tackles he broke for his size. Not to mention when he basically disappeared and made 2 defenders nail each other.

Scout has him at a 4.5 40 time. This may be influencing folk's opinion as far as "bleakaway speed".

Summer camp times are rarely updated. But anytime you watch an athlete run away from others playing in the 7A-5A level in Florida, you can bet the kid can run.
