There were certainly a bunch of great ballers on that squad. But, it's tough to overlook great individuals that didn't happen to play on that team. Great teams have the inherent quality of making certain individuals look better than they are. And bad teams have the reverse effect.

I wonder who Robe would put on his all time team based on the players he's coached at UL? I imagine most would be the same as the fans select... but I bet there would be a surprise or two.

I have three for the list. Two big hitters, David (Sky) King and Butch Harris. One pitcher Donnie Wall

Have to say there we a lot of closers who were very good. I think B J Ryan was a closer, and Danny McMurtry, Craig Schambough, and Gordon O' Brien were all very good.

The X-man, Xavier Hernandez wasn't too bad either, but I don't think he was a closer.

Here is my mock lineup. I must say, trying to pick the pitchers was not easy.
    (Position Players)
1B. Oswaldo Aguirre / Justin Hemme
    2B. Ryan Gill / George O'Dwyer
3B. Nathan Nelson / Dallas Morris
SS. Chase Lambin / Rick Haydel
LF. J. Tatford / Kevin Cantrelle
    CF. Coker / S. Feehan
RF. Corey Coles / Will Hawkins
    C. J. Lucroy / Danny Massiate
DH. Scott Hawkins / Phillip Hawke
    (Pitchers)
    Fri- Phil Devey
    Sat- Hunter Moody
    Sun- Justin Gabriel
    Midweek- Zach Ozborne

    Relief- Danny Farquar
    Relief- B.J. Ryan
    Relief- Craig Scham.

    Closer- J. Robicheaux, Gordon O'Brien

(Other Starters: Kevin Ardoin, Austin Faught, Trey Poland, Scott Dough., Andy Gros, Buddy Glass, Eric Templet, Jeff Robinson, and Timothy Ramon)

I may be wrong but I believe Lil Robe has the school record for saves?

Yes he is along with Moody (All time wins leader), Hawkins (All time H.R. leader), and Lucroy (So many records I dont know how many and which ones). I do know he surpassed Oswaldo Aguirre as the doubles leader.
    J. Tatford also has the All time Hit by pitch record.

Great list of pitchers, but I think Ron Guidry and Xavier Hernandez would have to be in there somewhere.

    It boils down to this.

Any fair compilation of an All-Time team will include almost the same number of players from both the Robichaux years and the Boulanger years. It would also include a few pre-Boulanger such as Guidry and Dark.
