Points yes, but if you think our offense looked "in gear" for Lamar and Troy....OK. Blaine was also throwing for about 47% in those games and we had numerous drops. We clearly weren't clicking. Our offense didn't get in gear til after the ASU game. You can say we were breaking in Broadway but we still didn't play very well on that end.

Are you still trying to make a point that you cannot make? "Hud's offenses" do not start out slow. His first year, we had a quarterback battle and two freshman RBs starting in the backfield. Blaine is a naturally amped up guy, and had to be individually coached into settling down. That was purely "situational"... not a trend starter. Last year we started out like a firecracker on offense. 4 of the 5 first games we scored over 40 per game... higher than our season average. If anything, we hit a "mid-season slump" last year (NT and ASU)... and that too... was situational. There is nothing whatsoever about Hud's program or this team that "starts out slow".

If you bring this up again... please have your own hammer handy... and smash your keyboard before you get done. You are far too intelligent of a football guy to keep up a stubborn line of thinking that you were given ample evidence to the contrary.

There is no evidence you speak of. Our offense up until the NT game averaged 412 yards and that was with the big game against FIU. Outside of that, we averaged about 375 and that's against Tulane, Lamar and Troy, neither of which are defensive juggernauts and I'm not even talking about how dismal we looked against OK State. I didn't do the math for the rest of the season but I'd bet we averaged about 460+ in games after FIU and that's with the two debacles against NT and ASU. If you're not seeing that we started "slow" O don't know what to tell you. You can put all the excuses out there but all teams go through these same adjustments to begin the year. I know you see little correlation to pre-Hud but the same was true there as well.

I know you have to certainly expect some time at the beginning of the year to adjust and get on the same page offensively but much of what I talk about includes playing bad teams with bad defenses.

I know you have to certainly expect some time at the beginning of the year to adjust and get on the same page offensively but much of what I talk about includes playing bad teams with bad defenses.

You and I may be arguing semantics. I know every college season has defenses ahead of offense to start the season. I also know that Hud's first two seasons had situational issues with offensive personel. When you say "The Cajuns start out slow on offense"... I take that to mean that the Cajuns do something different than other programs. I say "they in no way start out slower than other programs". I also don't think there is any correlation in Hud's Cajun team and any other Cajun team in our past.

I'll even put forward that I think the Cajuns offense will be above the norm this coming season in starting out much better than average offensively. It is a situational issue... not an inherent quality of our program. And again, no "inherent quality" of past Cajun offenses has anything to do with Hud's. I think he has, through year-round preparation, an entirely different mindset implemented within our program. I don't think OL get into fall and spring practice way out of shape. I also believe our offense should not be riddled with inexperience and learning curves, as it was in the first couple of seasons.

If you mean that "all offenses tend to start seasons slow"... with all else equal (no uncharacteristic injury to a highly important offensive player or two)... then I will agree. I will not agree that Hud's offenses start out slower than the norm. I will continue to argue to the contrary.

However, we actually take pride in being THE University of Louisiana where as Moanroe doesn't care.

We are tired of this Ooh-la-la bullcrap so we feel that if our admin don't have to balls to stand up to LSU to get our name finally changed the way we want, then we might as well take it into our own hands.
