They are a little hard to guess at, but since we have as many All-Americans on their list as any other team (3), with the exception of Tennessee (5), there is a very real possibility we will be listed in their top 10. The NFCA/USA Today & USA Softball/ESPN preseason polls will be coming out this Tuesday.

This may go down as the toughest schedule the Cajuns have ever played. They are playing 31 non-conference games against 20 opponents. 20 of those 31 games are against 12 post season teams from last year, 5 of which were in Super Regionals and 3 in the World Series, including 2 road games against the national runner-up and their first team All-American pitcher. 13 of those non-conference games are at neutral sites (tournaments), 11 are at home [Houston (2), Mississippi Valley State (2), Texas State (2) and Mississippi State (1) the post season teams], and 7 [Oklahoma (2), Texas (2) and Mississippi State (1) post season] on the road. All of the post season teams we are playing will be back in the post season again this year, with the possibility of two others having a chance to join us.

I want to welcome the transfers (Shelbi, Kristin, Leandra & Victoria) along with all the newcomers to the team and Christina Hamilton back from her injury. I'm looking forward to seeing great things from them. I want to say goodbye to those who have departed and wish them the best wherever they land. I'm anxious for February 9 to get here.
Great info. I think Mike realized that the best way to better position us for postseason seeding was to schedule more quality teams...and, hopefully, beat them. This will be a helluva schedule.

Thanks for the effort in putting this together.

You can add to that "tough" schedule, 16 home and 26 road........

SOS wasn't the issue last year. The decisions of the committee were the issue last year.

Did you bring that up with Scott after the decisions were made?

Why? Didn't you trust that he had everything totally under control?

Scott, though he was the chairman, was one member of the committee. I had questions beyond just how the committee's decisions affected the Cajuns and he was available to answer them.

Why did he think the committee got our positioning right?

Why do you have questions? Why do you need answers, things are what they are.

    This schedule is ridiculous.

What I see is a head coach taking matters into his own hands after his AD came back from his Softball Chairman selection duties with a "we know our place" attitude.

Hard to disagree with this. The result of our ridiculous seeding last year causes us now to play an unbelievably difficult schedule, with most of those games on the road. What a shame that such a program had to do this.
