Thing that surprised me over the weekend — the NHL ended its 113-day lockout or strike or whatever it was. I really thought they'd go dormant all season. Things that didn't surprise me this weekend — Chip Kelly stayed at Oregon and Jacoby Brissett transferred. Kelly will eventually go to the NFL, but I think he's smart in waiting for the right job when he has another top-five Oregon team coming back. And Brissett wasn't just passed over for Jeff Driskel, the offense was adapted to Driskel's strengths. Well, Jacoby, you'll always have Louisiana-Lafayette. And let's face it — Florida isn't in a BCS bowl game if Brissett doesn't drive them to the tying touchdown late in that game.
This info is a couple of weeks old, then again, not everyone hangs out with Cajun T on Thursday and Sunday nights...

Any candidates?
Is he accepting a position elsewhere or are we just going in another direction with the defense?
Bring In rob Ryan, imagine him and hud on the sidelines barking at the zebras
Well I can't say I saw this one coming, but I knew he was one of the main problems on defense with all that talent. Hopefully we can find a great candidate who wants to be at Louisiana and knows how to run a defense.
Geaux Cajuns!
Good luck to Coach Stewart
Both DC's from the New Orleans bowl are now gone.
BeauCajun and I were discussing this decision the other day, and two things about Stewart stuck out to me. He was adamant about his use of the 3-4, and he had difficulty in making adjustments during game time. Think ASU and the same play three times in a row that led to a TD.
He seemed like a nice guy who was passionate about this program and its players. I wish him well, and I hope he finds success down the road.
