Hopefully, we are actually pimping this guy for a Heisman within the next two years. My point is....when I HEAR "Broadway Joe", I think of a crusty drunk white dude trying to breed on Suzy Kolber on live TV. How many times did you HEAR the term "Honey Badger" without seeing it written in text? The masses won't necessarily SEE "Broadway Jeaux", but they'll HEAR "Broadway Joe". And that name is already taken by said crusty drunk white dude.

And Turb, while I know your response was likely rhetorical, the relevance of "Broadway" in Joe Namaths name comes from where he played....... And drank and probably tried to breed on a lot of women....on BROADWAY ST . I still just don't get 'Jeaux' from Terrance Broadway. But to each their own. Go for it.

I think 'old dog is on to something up there. "The Broadway Show". That's clever. I like it.

How about "The Broadway Show". Done, and done.
For those who want to get cute, "The Broadway Sheaux"
Looking forward to catching the Broadway show in 2013.
I like "The Broadway Sheaux" but hearing it doesn't make you stop and think about "why is it in news?" Reading "The Broadway Show" will leave zero memory for someone who didn't see him play. READING "The Broadway Sheaux" will get readers curious and that is what you want with the national media. HEARING "The Broadway Sheaux" not so much, because Broadway shows are a dime a dozen they come in and out of the news every year. A catchy phrase for a football player has to make someone stop in their tracks and ask "why is it in news?"

Even if they have the wrong inclination to start with, once they notice you for whatever reason they will tend to educate themselves on the timeliness of the topic. If you can accomplish a "stop drop and mull" they will never forget you.

As far as "Terrence's name isn't Joe for crying out loud" . . . Let me be clearer. Joe doesn't mean "name Joe" Joe means "individual!"

Also not a name is the term "average Joe" and "not your average Joe" means above average individual.

    Joe Schmo means "average individual"

And then there is "Jo" which is where this probably all these terms came from at some point in time. Jo is a Scot term of endearment meaning Sweetheart or dear. Kind of like Cher (sha) is around Cajun Country. "Joes" is plural with the same meaning. One online dictionary says it was derived from the word "Joy"

An internet slang dictionary says "Jo" is a generic name for a person (what everyone already knows) and that it is tied to the slang term "yo" and can be used in place of it. Like in "What up Yo" "What up Jo" (That I did not know)

Bottom line Jeaux becomes a term of endearment with dynamic meaning when you tie it to the "name" Broadway.

    Broadway Jeaux

So whether you read it or hear it you have to "stop drop and mull" it over in your head. When you do that you will never forget who Terrance Broadway is.

It's to the point now where it seems you are arguing for the whole "joe" thing out of stubbornness b/c it's your ideal. It makes me think of Joe Namath. It doesn't matter how you spell it. I don't buy the whole "joe" individual thing at all. You want to play off his name, which is Broadway right? Catch the Broadway Show at Cajun Field. Otherwise please lay off the Namath thing- it 's corny, unimaginative, worn out since the 1960's, and makes me think of a hairy chested pimp in an oversized fur coat clinging onto two playboy bunnies with beehive hairdos.. Uggh

    Duh!

I promise you you can't have a quarterback named Broadway without the comparison.

I guarantee you I am not the first.

It is inevitable that two quartbacks named Broadway (one real, one a nickname) playing at a high level will be compared.

In view of that fact it is better to take the nickname and twist it, mold it, own it.

The national media will jump all over the term.

It's catchy, it has a whole new meaning, and it still fits with idea of a " special performance"

Nothing to buy, I gave you the history of the term. It's on the table, not for sale.

More importantly, I believe Terrance would hate the reference, and would rather distance himself from someone else. I know I would- "jmo".

I just don't get with all the fuss over this name... "Broadway Jeaux"... but I have alternative suggestions...

    Network Narcisse
    Back Stage Boudreaux
    Second City Sonnier
Hollywood Hollier (both H's silent... of course)

These don't cause any confusion with a former NFL QB and they contain french names. Someone check and see which one Terrance prefers.

On that point I would agree. Terrance is the last person I would ask.

Only message board posters and rappers get to pick their nickname.

Although now that I think about it, I did ask my dad to call me Shetland as a kid. I ended up hating it at some point.

Any way uslol'dog you are right Broadway Jeaux is just a new trick on an old fame and you know what they say about ol'dogs.

I think you didn't bold far enough. Should have been this: crusty drunk white dude trying to breed on Suzy Kolber
