Thread: The #14 (Best) Individual Performance of Bowl Season (Bleacher Report)

  1. UL Football The #14 (Best) Individual Performance of Bowl Season (Bleacher Report)

Louisiana quarterback Terrance Broadway turned in a performance reminiscent of Johnny Manziel in the Ragin' Cajuns 43-34 bowl victory over East Carolina.

Playing in his own backyard in the New Orleans Bowl, Broadway totaled 424 yards (316 passing, 108 rushing) and two touchdowns (one passing, one rushing). His only blemish was an interception early in the fourth quarter.

Broadway was the player of the game in a contest that saw more than 1,000 yards of combined offense. With help from tailback Alonzo Harris and kicker Brett Baer, he never let the Pirates enjoy a lead.

A catch phrase is usually more catchy when people can get it. If the cultural aspect is what we are going for, A better phrase probably exists somewhere with the use of alliteration from 'Bayou' and Broadway. I just don't get the relation of Joe Namath and Terrance Broadway. I'd also rather not give that dbag Broadway Joe any more attention that what is necessary.

I get it. But I guess I am old enough to remember "Broadway Joe". Personally, I think it's catchy, fits the name "Broadway", and has a Cajun flair. Broadway Jeaux...................very cool! Wish it was my idea.

So, Joe Namath's name wasn't Broadway, it doesn't matter.

When Joe Namath took the field on the biggest stage he guaranteed victory. He delivered.

I see you object to Jeaux like it is a substitute name connection. While in fact Joe is a universal reference for a male individual.

Here is one of the most common phrases ever created and used to infer that a male individual is above average, "He's not your average Joe" O know you have heard it.

Jeaux if course is the "cultural aspect" mashup of Joe and Geaux.

When Terrance Broadway is on the biggest stage, he's not your average Joe. He delivers.

    He's Broadway Jeaux.

  8. This is so COOL Re: The #14 (Best) Individual Performance of Bowl Season (Bleacher Report)

I get it, but the typical non cajun fan won't. They will be scratching their heads wondering what Jeaux means.

Geaux has a long, long tradition so many people get that. Still I think it is pretty cool.

And to my memory Broadway Joe had more to do with his lifestyle than his football accomplishments. He was always cruising the fast lanes in New York.

I hope it doesnt catch on for the primary reason that
It's the exact name of a previous player from so long
Ago, the NFL was barely integrated and few players now
Know or care about it-- and Terrence's name isn't Joe for crying out loud-
How about "The Broadway Show". Done, and done.
For those who want to get cute, "The Broadway Sheaux"
Looking forward to catching the Broadway show in 2013.
