He is coming on as an intern, being paid through the foundation account for basketball. I am not sure he is married he talked today about a girlfriend, but yes a new baby. Both are Ragin Cajuns and are happy to be back in Lafayette.

This could be a very significant move. I knew LaRyan wanted to get into coaching and he loved it here so its a natural fit. What fits even better was his natural will to lead which is hard to find in kids this age when chemistry is so important on a team. I hope and feel its very possible that he is able to inspire a couple of those guys to really take a leadership role.
I'm sure it can only help local recruiting
Note the comment about the foundation account for basketball paying for LaRyan's internship this semester. This is in effect the Rebounders Club. There are more premium level donors in that organization than ever before. Some folks do believe that the staff is going through the painful steps of rebuilding and better days are on the horizon. Time will tell if they are right. Regardless of that, without those people LaRyan would not be here yet. Although he will be in graduate school starting this semester and will work as a coaching intern, the traditional graduate assistantship will begin the following semester.
One of my favorite Cajun athletes of all time. Glad he's gonna be part of this team again. I can definitely see LaRyan being a great coach in the future. Welcome back LaRyan!!
When this man says YOU can DO it, he knows what of he speaks.

He is young enough to relate to these young guns, and all I can say is WOW.
I really admire Gary for all he's done for the program! Glad to see hes getting into coaching!
