Thread: Top 20 of all Time

UL Baseball Top 20 of all Time

Someone posed this question over on the Saintsreport.com website: http://www.saintsreport.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=19656

They wanted to know who were the top 20 players to step foot into the Tigue?

I dont claim to be the scholar to be able to answer that question, but I thought it would be a fun topic. Lets see if the RagePagers can come up with a list of all the greatest players to play at the Tigue and make up a list. Of course, this isnt necessesarily all Cajun ball players.

Greatest college players? Greatest ball players that went on to success in the pros? Or both?

I am going to go for some of the non-obvious players (non-Cajuns).

I think that Robin Ventura would make that list. One of the best pure hitters I have seen in college and was an outstanding pro.

Strictly great college players ... Monty Fariss was one of the best college players I have seen play at Tigue Moore. Ben McDonald was not too shabby either. Jon Lieber of South Alabama.

I think you are right, the Tigue was dedicated in 1979 (I think) and about that time Ron was turning the Yankee bullpen into bench warmers.

Then again he has "stepped foot" in the Tigue
