Thread: Almost here!

    Default Almost here!

Well college football season is near complete, basketball is in full swing, which means Cajun Baseball is just around the corner. Does anyone have anything for us to look forward to this year in baseball besides beating LSPoo at home? What kind of year could we have? Yet another rebuilding or can we make some noise this year? Any responses are welcomed to hold me over until the first pitch.

I spoke to catcher Mike Strength at the NO Bowl. He told me he is all healed up and ready to go. He said they will have a good team this year.

Watching the fall WS, I think they will be a better hitting team, especially against LHP. The Conrad brothers and a few JUCO players should make us a higher scoring team.

Pitching will be the question mark, but since that is Robe's specialty, I think the pitching will improve as the season progresses.

Overall, I'm looking for a winning season!

Great to hear! Love it when Cajun baseball is good.

Last year was somewhat of a disaster. I have to think that the players that were run off...uh...I mean...who's scholarships were not renewed...along with some added talent...will lead to a better year. How much better? Who knows.

BTW, nice schedule for us this year. Lots of home games early and no killer road trips. Also, the SBC tournament is @Moore. This would be a great year to make a run.

A friend was telling me yesterday that he talked to Bab at the NO Bowl and the coaching staff is very excited about this team. He said that this could be one of the best teams they have had in a long time.

Yawn...I'll get excited when I see consistent play. We should have more squads that are on the level of the 2007 team.

I'm cautiously optimistic that this team "could" end up being a good one...but after some recent underperforming teams, I will just wait and see before I get overly excited. I will be there, though, for that first pitch...of course.

At least two of the guys he was going to use as starting pitchers last year didn't get an inning because of injuries. They are back and he has added more arms and the young arms are all a year better. I think he'll be 12 or more deep pitching and has three guys that can close. Most of these will also throw in 2014. Hitting will be better and I hope that we will have a little more power. If they reduce left side fielding errors and have a servicable center fielder we will be very good. I'm excited about this team!!!
