If Bill O'Brien decides to jump to the NFL, that leaves Penn State open...again. Dan Mullen was born in Pennsylvania and prolly grew up rooting for Penn State. Just like last year...this is a problem for us. If this domino falls, we are once again behind the 8-ball.

I think a lot of UL fans are bigger on Hud than the rest of the college football world. Two years at a nobody school (reality is a _____), even with a good record, isn't enough. He has at least another year before even the low level BCS schools take interest.

Of course UL fans are bigger on Hud than the rest of the college football world. But, BCS schools have already shown "interest". Hud's name has circulated at many of the BCS HC openings, starting with his first year with this "nobody". There are other candidates besides Hud and they were selected... simple as that. I think we dodged a bullet this past year. Hud isn't a national BCS football commodity. He is a regional BCS football commodity.

And to call UL a "nobody"... but say that one more year at the "nobody"... when that one more year results aren't even in... somehow translates into the start of interest taken from lower BCS schools... is, quite frankly, an eggheaded statement.

Tim Brando said it today about Nick Saban. It is good to have your name out there regardless of your intents. He called it brandishing your brand. It is good that Hud keeps getting mentioned, we just hope that it is a little longer before the brand is called up.
