    They lost.

Question: What was your opinion of Elfrid's 31 point outing?

He also leads the league in assists. Our team has many deficiencies. The PG spot is not one of them.

4 guys scored more than three points last game. In response to your previous question.

So what are the deficiencies? How do they get fixed? Realistically, how long will this take? And finally, back to the OP's original question how long is the rope on the guy who is supposed to have the cure for all this?

A point guards job is NOT to be the top scorer even though that can happen. EP is the best point guard in the league for lots of reasons.

The pg runs the offense, it flows through him. EP handles defense on the best player not a 4or 5. His assist turnover is good. His steals tops, good rebounder, and he scores with high efficiency.

I'm not saying he should or should not get more time. He will get another year. There is no reason we should not be able to win next year. Will we? I don't know. I hope so.

Kyle, at an average of 71 ppg, the Cajuns are one of the top scoring teams in the conference. Their record is poor because they give up too many points. They play hard on defense but are outmanned and get beat on the boards every night which is why they give up so many points. Four people scored in double figures the last game but the bench did not contribute. They lost their best bench player in Kevin Brown back in early Dec. He is the guy who scored 14 at Michigan State. As far as Elfrid is concerned, among guards in the league he is in the top 5 in scoring, assists, and steals. He is also considered by many to be the best defensive guard in the league and his free throw shooting has gotten much better. His improvement from last year to this season has been impressive. Folks who are optimistic things will be better next season are basing that view on inside help being brought in via recruiting. They did sign a guy in the early signing period who is the top rebounder on one of the best HS teams in Texas. They also signed a local player who is outstanding in the catch and shoot mode. That probably is not enough help to turn things around and more help (particularly inside) will have to be brought on board for the optimists to be proved correct. There is one thing different than in the past in that Shawn Forrest is in charge of recruiting. Forrest is the guy who brought in much of the talent that Johnny Jones turned into a winner at North Texas. He may be the most critical guy in the Cajun program right now as the future will largely be determined by his efforts.

Also leads the Sun Belt Conference in steals. He's also the league's third-leading scorer at 16 ppg. At one point Elfrid Payton was also the only Division I player in the country to be averaging at least 10 points, 5 assists, 5 rebounds and 2 steals per game this season. He is an all-conference point guard.

Hell even convince yourself that because Hudspeth did it his first season that Marlin's gonna do it his fourth? But do the rest of I don't know, the whole entire Acadiana area a favor & wait until they actually put a three game winning streak together that includes someone better than powerhouses like Grambling State & New Jersey institute of Technology before waking the masses from their mindless slumber & TIVO watching of Duck Dynasty to pack the dome for all the excitement that is (not) UL men's basketball. Because right now the round ball is a hard pill to swallow for us bandwagon fans which is about 96.7% of fans in general.
That's the problem, you're a Bandwagon Fan! You only will support or show up to an event when things are doing good and teams are winning. In the down years all you want to do is criticize and whine instead of supporting. Opinions are fine but enough with the whining.

If you whine as much at work as you do here you shouldn't be allowed to work.

I'm not sure how much of a difference Coleby makes. Maybe 3 or 4 games. I don't know if you could play Long and Kadeem together.

Thanks Mike. You always bring civility & intelligence to the board. So how long should it take these guys to come together as a team when & if they all get here?
