Thread: Independence vs Mobile Go Daddy Bowl

  1. UL Football Independence vs Mobile Go Daddy Bowl

First, lets get it real, UL in New Orleans is where I want to be as champs next season, if not a BCS bowl. If for some reason it comes down to the Indy or the Go Daddy the travel time is almost the same. Mobile 43 miles further.

Indy Bowl in crappy stadium, so is the Go Daddy.

Indy several days after Christmas, Go Daddy several days after New Years Day Bowls, and before National Championship game. Only talk of national championship at this time.

Bad weather likely at either event.

Mobile a better destination than Shreveport, but not much in the dead of winter.

Given those issues where would most of y'all prefer to go. Right now the Hoax are putting on their rain gear.

Never thought of it like that.

That would be us playing the South Florida Bulls in the St Petersburg Bowl. After Broadway finishes cutting them up they will be known as the South Florida Steers.

If I had to choose it would be Mobile, but Mobile is 1.5 hrs and Shreveport is 6 hrs away from me. Also if I had to choose strictly on city it would be Mobile, pretty good downtown to party, good restaurants and only 1 hr from the closest casinos in Biloxi and the beaches of the Ms gulf coast.

Independence traditionally a more prestigious bowl, no?

Based on that I guess the Indy bowl.

Probably, perhaps b/c there have been big name teams matched up in that bowl in the past. I would personally prefer Godaddy b/c I enjoy Mobile more than Shreveport

The Louisiana Boardwalk area on the river in bossier where they have the parade, pep rally, battle of the bands etc is pretty cool with lots of reataurants bars, and shops

Since we don't get to pick the time of year or the weather, I choose the New Orleans Bowl from here on out until we make it to the Sugar Bowl. I want to play close to home and inside a dome at this time of year. So to me, that means New Orleans, Houston, Dallas. Anything else would end up being a bunch of us dudes heading out and leaving most of the wives behind.

Given the choice between the two I'd have to toss a coin. Not happy with either.

I know we don't have a conference tie in but if we were just talking best options other than the New Orleans bowl or BCS bowl then I'd give my vote to the Meineke Car Care Bowl at Reliant Stadium in Houston.

I think that is the one location other than New Orleans that would draw a Cajun crowd similar to New Orleans.

Easy. Mobile. Another 3 weeks of practice. Plus, I probably can't go to either of them. Indy Bowl is sandwiched around a whole bunch of others. Mobile is the second to last game, after almost everyone has taken their balls and gone home. Wait.that didn't come out right.

We'd have fun at both locations. But, I'd prefer Mobile. Your "probably" is fact.

I hope we get to experience many different bowl venues while I'm still stomping around this rock. We definitely need to remain regional up until T-Joe blows our mind with the unveiling of our aggressive Master Plan for world UL domination.

I stared deep into T-Joe's eyes at the NO Bowl. and he was either mentally mastering our launch into exceptionalism. or he had eaten something that disagreed with him. From my experience with great leaders. that look can be very similar.
