Either you hire a coach who continues to build, or you fall off the map.

Another interesting comparison between Boise and TCU, is that both programs hired from within.
But did franchionne's wife love Fort Worth haha

This only works if you have a winning formula and a winning program, which will almost certainly be part of the Hud legacy.

Well you don't normally promote from within, if your losing. Unless you're Ark State (Freeze), and that worked out for them, if only for 1 year.

haha Maybe but when Alabama calls...you listen.

The point is that even though they were replacing a winning coach, they made the correct decision and kept the train rolling. It is a process that doesn't happen overnight. Hud might love it here and stay but it's more likely that we will need our admin to make a great hire after next season. Maybe that guy is on staff (Jay Johnson) or maybe you look outside, but you have to make the right move to keep the snowball building up steam.

If Hud leaves, my first choice would be Jay Johnson.

Jay Johnson is the ONLY guy for the job if HUD goes. I talked to him personally at The Olde Absinthe House on Bourbon street Saturday night and actually told him that he should be the next man up if Hud left. He thanked me and agreed saying he would absolutely love to continue what HUD has started.

Put it this way, Johnson is a HUGE reason why our offense is what it is right now. HUD is the emotional leader, but Johnson is the mastermind behind the majority of our offense. He has been successful everywhere he's been. I believe he would really implement a lot of HUD's tactics and keep this well oiled machine rolling.

HUD is not just a great coach.

He is also an incredible salesman.

I have never seen the two traits occupy the same space and time like they do with Hud.

He even understands marketing and the value of great uniforms.

Just curious what you guys would think about Lance Guidry as DC? WKU had a top 25 ranked defense, he's energetic A.F., and he prolly knows ya mom'n'dem and could recruit Louisiana well. Just a thought, I know he wants to get back south. Mid season, was looking like Stewart may be the first one out.
